Requirements Law degree (LLB or equivalent) qualified in Austria or another EU jurisdiction 5 to 9 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in payments, fintech, crypto, or financial services Strong knowledge of EU regulatory frameworks (PSD2, DORA, E‑Money Directive, MiCA, AMLD) Experience working in‑house or advising regulated financial institutions, EMIs, or crypto firms Familiarity with Austrian regulatory expectations and the FMA is highly desirable Strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives Excellent drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills Ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced, evolving environment Responsibilities Regulatory & Legal Advisory Provide legal advice on applicable laws and regulations, including payments services, e‑money, and crypto‑assets Interpret and apply EU and Austrian regulatory frameworks (PSD2, MiCA, AML directives) to business activities Support regulatory licensing, passporting, and ongoing compliance requirements Product & Commercial Support Partner with product and business teams to provide legal guidance on new products and services Review and draft customer terms, product documentation, and disclosures Ensure legal compliance of payment flows, digital asset offerings, and platform features Support go‑to‑market strategies with practical, risk‑based legal advice Contracting & Transactional Work Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements (partnerships, vendors, payment schemes, custody providers) Manage contract lifecycle and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements Support strategic partnerships, including fintech and crypto ecosystem participants Regulatory Engagement & Governance Support interactions with regulators such as the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) Assist with regulatory submissions, notifications, and responses Contribute to governance frameworks, including internal policies and board‑level documentation Monitor and communicate regulatory changes impacting the business Work Conditions Immerse yourself in Crypto: Master cutting‑edge technologies and become an expert in the most innovative industry.
