We are recruiting an experienced OFCI Lead to join a major hyperscale data centre project in Dusseldorf Germany.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Electrical or Mechanical Engineer with strong building services experience to take ownership of the coordination, technical integration and delivery of major client supplied equipment on a complex data centre development.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing the full OFCI process, ensuring that major electrical and mechanical equipment is technically reviewed, coordinated with the building design, delivered in line with the construction programme and installed to the required standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review technical submittals for client supplied mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring full integration with the overall building design.
  • Manage technical queries and RFIs, working closely with design teams, equipment vendors and site construction teams.
  • Coordinate equipment procurement interfaces, delivery schedules, installation requirements and programme milestones.
  • Lead weekly OFCI coordination meetings with the client, vendors and project stakeholders.
  • Attend factory acceptance testing and witness testing where required.
  • Oversee OFCI installation activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, manufacturer requirements and local regulations.
  • Coordinate vendor engineers and specialist technical support on site.
  • Identify and resolve technical, logistical and programme risks to maintain project delivery.

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with an established mechanical or electrical contractor, ideally within data centres or other technically complex construction environments.
  • Strong understanding of major mechanical and electrical equipment and its integration into building services systems.
  • Experience coordinating equipment vendors, technical submissions, installation activities and construction programmes.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with Navisworks, CAD/BIM processes and project planning software such as Primavera or Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and the ability to manage multiple technical and programme interfaces.

Candidates with previous OFCI management experience on hyperscale data centre projects will be particularly attractive.

This opportunity offers the chance to take a key technical leadership role on a significant European data centre development, working alongside experienced engineering and construction teams.

If you have a strong electrical or mechanical engineering background and experience managing complex equipment packages, I would welcome a confidential conversation.
