Technical Lead

Responsibilities Design and development of scalable backend services in Java and their operation as containerized workloads on Kubernetes End-to-end responsibility for delivering features — from concept and design through implementation, review and release to production operations Technical leadership — together with the Product Architect and developers you set the technical direction and maintain focus on code quality, evolution of our technology stack, and reduction of technical debt Operational excellence — observability, security, performance and compliance according to the standards of a regulated financial environment Close collaboration with product, business and other engineering teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions Hands‑on — you lead by example and contribute directly to the codebase Requirements 7+ years of professional software development experience, including substantial backend development in Java Several years of experience as a Technical Lead, including performing design and code reviews, coaching teams, and owning successful deliveries Solid practical experience with containerization (Docker) and production Kubernetes orchestration li>Extensive experience designing, building and operating CI/CD pipelines (ideally GitLab CI) Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems and cloud‑native design principles Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with product, engineering and business stakeholders Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience Fluent in German (minimum B2) and English (minimum B2) Willingness to work on‑site in Zurich at least 3 days per week Valid Swiss work permit and residence in Switzerland ATS Optimization Keywords Hard Skills Backend Development Java Containerization Kubernetes CI/CD Pipelines Software Architecture Distributed Systems Cloud‑Native Design Principles Soft Skills Excellent Communication Collaboration Certifications
