The Nitro System is the purpose-built platform of dedicated hardware, a lightweight hypervisor, and a hardware root of trust that powers every modern EC2 instance — offloading virtualization, networking, storage, and security functions to dedicated Nitro Cards and a Nitro Security Chip, while the Nitro Hypervisor delivers bare-metal-equivalent performance with a minimized attack surface.
You will create scope in ambiguous problem spaces, influence engineering and business decisions at the senior leadership level, and drive cross-organizational alignment across multiple engineering teams.
You will work at the rare intersection of hardware and software — spanning the Nitro System, processor platform roadmaps, fleet modernization, and customer-facing capacity commitments — with visibility to the highest levels of the company.
Senior Technical Program Manager, EC2 (Core Compute)
EC2 Core Compute owns the AWS Nitro System and the general purpose EC2 instance families.
Our organization also owns the C, M, R, X, Flex, and T instance families — the non-accelerated general purpose compute platforms that serve the broadest range of AWS customer workloads across millions of servers and Intel, AMD, and AWS Graviton processor architectures.
We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to own programs that directly shape the reliability, performance, security, and economics of this foundational infrastructure.
