Responsibilities Organize and take operational responsibility for the Big Dutchman Group's virtualization environments (centralized/decentralized, focus on VMware) Analyze and resolve 2nd-level incidents, implement sustainable fixes, and clearly document root causes and corrective measures Plan, implement, and standardize platform services (compute, storage connectivity, networking, high availability, lifecycle) Develop concepts and designs with specialist teams (including monitoring, hardening, capacity planning, architecture, and operations/lifecycle concepts) Assess and introduce technologies (e.g., automation, standardization, new platform features) and build team expertise (reviews, best practices, coaching) Requirements Several years of experience operating VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter) in SMB or enterprise environments Strong understanding of operating and troubleshooting virtual machines as well as HA/cluster design Hands‑on experience with storage and networking topics in a virtualization context (SAN/NAS, iSCSI/FC, datastores, performance) Experience in lifecycle and upgrade planning (patches, firmware, compatibility, change management) Very good German and English language skills and willingness to travel (approx. 4–6 weeks per year) are desired Hard Skills VMware vSphere ESXi vCente
