Senior Storage Engineer / Cloud Recovery Architect – 100% Remote

We are seeking an experienced Senior Storage Engineer / Cloud Recovery Architect to design, implement, and operate secure, air-gapped cloud recovery environments that support cyber recovery, ransomware response, and business continuity initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience architecting and deploying clean room recovery environments, including isolated infrastructure, recovery validation frameworks, and secure workload restoration procedures. This role requires strong hands‑on expertise in Dell PowerMax, NetApp ONTAP, and Commvault, along with the ability to integrate storage, backup, networking, security, and cloud technologies into a resilient recovery platform.

The successful candidate will lead recovery architecture design, establish operational runbooks, define recovery testing standards, and collaborate with security, infrastructure, and business continuity teams to ensure reliable, secure, and predictable recovery outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, air‑gapped cloud recovery architectures for cyber resilience and ransomware recovery.
• Architect, deploy, and maintain isolated clean room recovery environments for secure workload restoration and validation.
• Configure, manage, and optimize enterprise storage platforms, including Dell PowerMax and NetApp ONTAP.
• Implement and manage backup, recovery, and data protection solutions using Commvault.
• Integrate storage, backup, networking, cloud infrastructure, and security services into a cohesive recovery platform.
• Develop and maintain recovery procedures, operational runbooks, and standardized workload restoration processes.
• Establish recovery testing methodologies, validation procedures, and governance standards to ensure recovery readiness.
• Lead recovery architecture assessments, technology evaluations, capacity planning, and infrastructure optimization initiatives.
• Develop recovery orchestration workflows to improve recovery speed, consistency, and operational efficiency.
• Validate recovery designs against security requirements, recovery objectives, and business continuity needs.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud engineering, and business continuity teams to support disaster recovery and cyber recovery initiatives.
• Identify recovery risks, infrastructure gaps, and opportunities to strengthen cyber resilience and operational readiness.
• Support recovery exercises, technical testing, documentation, and continuous improvement of recovery capabilities.

Required Qualifications and Technical Skills

• Proven experience in senior storage engineering, cloud recovery architecture, cyber recovery, or enterprise disaster recovery.
• Hands‑on experience designing and implementing air‑gapped recovery environments and isolated clean room architectures.
• Strong expertise in Dell PowerMax enterprise storage solutions.
• Strong hands‑on experience with NetApp ONTAP storage platforms.
• Extensive experience implementing and managing Commvault backup and recovery solutions.
• Experience integrating enterprise storage, backup infrastructure, networking, and cloud services.
• Strong understanding of ransomware recovery, data protection, recovery validation, and secure workload restoration.
• Experience developing recovery runbooks, testing frameworks, operational procedures, and governance standards.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure architecture, network isolation, access controls, and security best practices.
• Experience with recovery orchestration, capacity planning, technology assessments, and infrastructure design validation.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, analytical, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
