Overview In this role you design, build, and operate robust backend systems powering Databricks workspaces at massive scale. You will lead architecture and delivery for the workspace asset platform, ensuring high throughput and low latency while guiding junior engineers. You’ll diagnose production issues, optimize performance on large clusters, and drive cross-team technical initiatives. This is a chance to shape how data and AI workloads are served across the Lakehouse platform and contribute to open-source efforts around Delta and Iceberg formats.
Verantwortungsbereiche Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems powering Databricks workspaces Build a next-generation platform for serving workspace assets with high QPS and low latency Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and improve team coding practices and system designs Perform low-level debugging, performance measurement, and optimization on large production clusters Architect, influence product roadmap, and own new projects Introduce automation and operability tools for services Investigate and prevent production incidents Plan and lead complex technical projects across multiple teams Lead sprint planning, delegate tasks, and participate in project planning Zentrale Anforderungen 15+ years of experience building and supporting large-scale distributed systems Ability to work toward a multi-year vision with incremental deliverables Motivation to deliver customer
