What you'll do
This role works closely with a variety of stakeholders within Geotab’s sales channels, customer care, product management and other solutions engineering teams.
The Senior Solutions Engineering position plays a fundamental role in driving Geotab’s strategies, developing tools and educational content for internal teams and external partners and advancing on‑going business objectives.
The role’s incumbent identifies gaps in the product ecosystem, providing alternative solutions and valuable feedback to the product and development teams. How you'll make an impact: Develop and maintain expert‑level knowledge of the Geotab ecosystem, serving as a Subject Matter Expert to empower end‑users and partners.
Engage and collaborate with strategic partners and key end‑users to optimize their utilization of Geotab’s technology, tailoring the approach to meet their complex needs. Collaborate with Geotab revenue‑generating teams as a key technical resource to identify and deliver effective solutions for customer challenges.
Drive revenue growth by translating complex technical capabilities into tangible business value for prospective clients. Ensure partner and end‑user satisfaction through prompt and accurate service, bolstering internal team support. Support partner upskilling, driving them toward excellence to support customers across unique channels.
Assess and analyze complex partner and end‑user business challenges, identifying viability of Geotab and proposing alternative approaches. Contribute to continuous improvement of the company’s offerings by providing feedback and collaborating with Product.
Keep accurate documentation and records of customer/partner engagements, solution designs and deliverables. Manage high‑impact projects and strategic customers/partners for seamless implementation and success. Create and contribute to processes and procedures, handling escalations, identifying areas for change and driving the change.
Mentor and support Solutions Engineers and other team members. What you'll bring to this role: 5–8 years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Data Science, Technical Account Management, Engineering Support, or a related field. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience in a relevant technical field such as software engineering, data analysis or systems integration, focused on customer‑facing roles. Expert‑level technical knowledge of telematics, IoT, APIs and related technologies. Experience with programming languages such as Python, SQL, Java, or C#, and extensive experience with API integrations.
Ability to work with Agile Work Management, Ticketing and Customer Relationship Management tools like JIRA and Salesforce. Familiarity with data analysis tools and visualization tools like Superset or Power BI. Proven ability to maintain and grow technical knowledge to the level of a subject matter expert.
Effective problem‑solving and critical thinking abilities, capable of assessing customer challenges and proposing viable solutions. Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams including sales, product development and customer support. Strong communication and presentation skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
A customer‑focused mindset, committed to understanding complex client needs and delivering exceptional service. Advising on business impacts, understanding industry changes, trends, emerging technologies and adapting to market demands. Knowledge of market trends and ability to drive revenue growth.
Experience with sales or business development, especially indirect sales channels, identifying and pursuing opportunities. Time management and organizational skills, managing multiple high‑impact projects simultaneously. Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

- Salary: The annual base salary for this position is the expected annual salary for this role and may be subject to change. Geotab offers various perks and benefits and other compensation components that an individual may be eligible for
- The actual base salary depends on a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, education, overall experience and location
- Salary range: $104,400—$135,700 CAD
