Senior RHEL Satellite Server Engineer (m/f/x) · 1563

We are looking for a Senior Linux Platform & Infrastructure Engineer to establish a modern Red Hat Satellite-based platform for managing the lifecycle of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.

Today, parts of the build, release and deployment process rely on highly customized, legacy RPM-based solutions. You will help drive the transition to a standardized, scalable and automated platform supporting the organization's future growth and compliance needs.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong RHEL, infrastructure and automation expertise, working closely with development, platform and cybersecurity teams.

Your profile:

Minimum requirements:

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent qualification
• Extensive experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux platform administration and architecture
• Proven experience designing enterprise-scale Linux infrastructure solutions
• Strong expertise with Red Hat Satellite, software repositories and package lifecycle management
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline design
• Strong knowledge of RPM packaging, dependency management and software release processes
• Experience with infrastructure automation using Python, Bash, Ansible, or similar technologies
• Deep understanding of Linux networking, security, authentication and system integration
• Experience defining technical architecture and driving platform modernization initiatives
• Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in software product development environments with regulatory requirements
• Knowledge of Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) or similar compliance frameworks
• Experience with container technologies and hybrid infrastructures
• Knowledge of software supply chain security and artifact management
• Background in large-scale R&D organizations supporting global engineering teams
• Experience acting as technical lead, system architect or principal engineer

Your responsibilities:

• Design and implement a scalable enterprise Satellite Server architecture for software package distribution
• Transform legacy release and deployment processes into standardized and maintainable platform solutions
• Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and modern DevOps practices
• Develop automated RPM package build, validation and publication processes
• Define and implement automated testing frameworks for platform and package verification
• Design release staging concepts supporting regulatory and regional requirements, including EU and non‑EU distributions
• Integrate RHEL Package Delta Bundle (PDB) generation and release management processes into automated workflows
• Define infrastructure standards, architecture guidelines and operational best practices
• Collaborate with platform engineers, software developers, cybersecurity teams and infrastructure stakeholders
• Act as technical authority for Linux platform architecture and software delivery processes
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on automation, reliability, scalability and maintainability
