Responsibilities
- Develop imaging products for end-users from Muon's infrared imaging missions
- Research, design, and implement scalable algorithms for image mosaicking, orthorectification, and radiometric normalization
- Act as product owner for critical customer-facing imagery products
- Author and maintain technical and customer-facing design documents
- Engage with customer technical stakeholders through meetings and program discussions
- Write production-ready code for data product pipelines and operational services
- Ensure scientific quality and quantitative validation of Orthomosaic Tile products
- Work cross-functionally with software, calibration, and instrument engineers
Requirements
- PhD with 3+ years of industry experience, or MS with 6+ years, or BS with 8+ years
- 5+ years of experience building geospatial data products from remote sensing data
- Hands-on experience with image mosaicking or orthorectification
- Experience working with real-world data from novel imaging instruments
- Familiarity with Cloud Optimized GeoTIFF, XArray, or GDAL
- Exceptional Python-based development and analysis skills
- Ability to communicate technical design documents and product specifications
- Ability to work with distributed, interdisciplinary teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience processing multispectral or infrared satellite imagery
- Domain expertise in meteorology, weather, or environmental remote sensing
- Domain expertise in wildfire monitoring
- Experience supporting satellite mission product development or commissioning
- Track record of delivering operational geospatial data products to external customers
- Experience as a product owner or technical lead
- Familiarity with cloud-native geospatial systems and AWS
- Experience working with large datasets
