Senior Product Designer

Handyman is a well-established field service management platform used by more than 45,000 people across Europe.

We are now entering a major transformation. We are modernising our platform, moving from legacy technology to a modern cloud- and web-based architecture, and changing the way we build products.

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer who can help shape the next generation of Handyman and strengthen how Product, Design and Engineering work together.

This is a hands‑on role. You will be expected to move confidently from discovery to delivery, turn complex operational workflows into clear product experiences, and contribute directly to product decisions.

You will not simply receive finished requirements and turn them into screens. You will help frame the problems, challenge assumptions and work closely with Product and Engineering to find solutions that are useful, feasible and commercially sound.

What you will do

• Own the design process across a significant product area, from discovery through delivery and iteration

• Work directly with customers and users to understand workflows, pain points and unmet needs

• Frame problems, map journeys, design flows and test ideas before development

• Create wireframes, prototypes and high-quality final designs

• Work closely with Product and Engineering in an empowered product trio

• Contribute to prioritisation, trade‑offs and release decisions

• Help modernise complex workflows as Handyman moves to a new platform

• Evolve the design system to improve consistency, scalability and implementation quality

• Support Engineering during implementation and follow the work through after release

• Use research, feedback and product data to improve the experience over time

• Help build a more open, pragmatic and collaborative product culture

What this role is not

This is not a purely visual design role, a design‑system‑only role or a position where Design is brought in after the solution has already been defined.

We are not looking for someone who mainly produces polished screens from fixed requirements.

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of complex product problems, work independently and stay close to the details from early discovery through implementation.

What we are looking for

• 5+ years of experience in Product Design, UX Design or a similar role

• Experience working in a product company, ideally within B2B SaaS or another complex digital product environment

• Proven ownership of a product area from an unclear opportunity through discovery, design, delivery and iteration

• Experience working on a live product over time, not only short‑term projects or agency assignments

• Strong interaction and visual design craft

• Practical experience with user research, problem framing, prototyping and lightweight validation

• Experience working closely with Product Managers and Engineers

• Strong proficiency in Figma and collaborative design tools

• The ability to simplify complex workflows without losing important functionality

• Clear communication and confidence when presenting and defending design decisions

• The judgement to balance quality, speed and technical constraints

• Fluent German and English

Experience with design systems, accessibility, mobile products, enterprise onboarding, AI‑assisted design tools or replatforming is a plus.

Handyman already has an established customer base, strong market presence and a product used in business‑critical daily operations.

However, we are operating a deep product and organisational transformation. The future platform, product experience and ways of working are still being shaped.

This gives you the opportunity to influence not only how Handyman looks and works, but also how the company approaches product design going forward.

You will work closely with Product and Engineering and have real responsibility for turning complex field service workflows into a more modern, coherent and user‑centred product.

Some travel to customers and European offices is expected.
