Senior Offshore Wind Consultant

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting a Senior Offshore Wind Consultant to join the expanding technical services team based in Hamburg supporting the Renewables industry across Europe and Globally.

This position can be availble on a hybrid or remote working basis across Germany.

The Offshore Wind Consultant will lead diverse techinical advisory assignments providing key technical and commercial analysis to clients across a range of different Offshore Wind Projects at varying stages of development and or operation.

The successful candidate will leverage their existing network and skills to develop leads and project manage consultancy assignments.

This is an excellent opportunity for a consultant with extensive experience across the Offshore Wind industry who thrives in an environment where they have a variety of exposure to multiple different types of advisory projects and the opportunity to continue to expand thier knowledge and experience.

The successful indivdual will be an excellent communicator in English with the ability to manage numerous stakeholders of varying levels of technical understanding both internally and with the client.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead diverse technical advisory assignments for offshore wind energy projects (incl. for example technical due diligence for project finance or investment, construction monitoring)

• Review and analyse offshore wind farm projects in development, construction or operation. This will include for example review of technical aspects of construction and operation contracts, project cost estimates and project programme

• Preparation of technical specifications, bid evaluation, negotiation with suppliers, design review, site supervision and quality control

• Lead and manage multi-disciplinary project teams

• Reporting on projects internally and to clients

• Providing technical and general support to clients and internally to other business units

• Maintain local relationship with clients and subcontractors to further grow Woods business in the region

• Attend conferences and present Woods services and capabilities to clients and business partners

• Continuously monitoring work to ensure QSE compliance

• Conducting project site visits and client meetings in Europe

Qualifications

• A relevant engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, civil engineering) or industrial engineer) or similar qualification

• Previous postgraduate experience and proven track record in the offshore wind industry is essential

• Prior experience in successful management of due diligence projects is a benefit

• The ability to produce and review high quality reports to predefined deadlines

• The role is client facing and so the candidate must be a confident communicator

• Skilled in MS Office incl. MS Excel skills

• Fully fluent in English language, both spoken and written

• Knowledge of other European languages (Polish, French, Dutch) is a benefit
