Senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE & Power Platform Engineer Department: Operations Employment Type: Full Time Location: UK Description Codec is seeking an experienced Senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE & Power Platform Engineer to join a dedicated team responsible for the ongoing development, enhancement and evolution of a business-critical Microsoft application platform supporting essential public services.

Working within a highly collaborative multidisciplinary team, the role will focus on delivering new functionality, improving existing capabilities, modernising business processes and driving continual improvement across a complex enterprise application estate.

The solution integrates extensively with Microsoft Azure services and external systems, offering the opportunity to work across a broad technology stack that includes Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Azure Integration Services and modern DevOps practices. Contribute to the ongoing evolution and modernisation of the solution architecture.

Technical Leadership & Escalation Support Act as a senior technical resource within the delivery team. Support knowledge sharing and mentoring within the wider engineering team. Stakeholder Engagement Work directly with customer stakeholders, business users and delivery teams to understand requirements and shape technical solutions.

Experience working with Azure DevOps and modern ALM practices. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing and enhancing solutions built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE), Dataverse and the Power Platform.

In addition to development and enhancement activities, the role will provide technical expertise in the investigation and resolution of complex application and integration issues, acting as a senior escalation point where deep product knowledge is required.

Key Responsibilities Solution Design & Development Design, develop and enhance enterprise solutions built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE, Dataverse and the Microsoft Power Platform. Deliver new application capabilities, workflow automation and business process improvements aligned to customer requirements.

Contribute to solution architecture discussions and technical design decisions. Identify opportunities to improve performance, scalability, maintainability and supportability across the application estate. Participate in technical design workshops and collaborate with functional consultants, architects and customer stakeholders.

Application Enhancement & Continuous Improvement Lead the technical implementation of approved change requests and enhancement initiatives. Analyse existing functionality and recommend improvements to user experience, process efficiency and operational effectiveness.

Refactor and optimise existing solution components to reduce technical debt and improve long-term maintainability. Support the introduction of new Microsoft capabilities and platform features where appropriate.

Dynamics 365 & Power Platform Engineering Develop and maintain: Dynamics 365 CE customisations Dataverse solutions Model-Driven Apps Power Automate solutions Custom integrations Role-based security models Plugin and workflow extensions Ensure solutions are secure, scalable and aligned with Microsoft best practices.

Maintain appropriate development standards, documentation and coding practices. Azure Integration Collaboration Work closely with Azure Integration Engineers to deliver and maintain end-to-end business processes spanning Dynamics 365, Dataverse and Azure services.

Contribute to the design and troubleshooting of integrations involving: Azure Data Factory Logic Apps Azure SQL Azure Storage WebJobs Application Insights Support root cause analysis of complex cross-platform issues affecting business-critical processes.

DevOps, Release & Quality Management Support solution deployment and release activities using Azure DevOps. Participate in code reviews and contribute to development quality standards. Promote automation and repeatable deployment practices. Collaborate with testing resources to ensure solutions are fully validated prior to release.

Contribute to CI/CD improvements and application lifecycle management practices. Provide expert analysis and resolution of complex application issues and defects where deep product knowledge is required. Participate in major incident investigations and root cause analysis activities.

Contribute to technical documentation, design artefacts and operational runbooks. Translate business requirements into practical and scalable technical designs. Provide technical input into roadmap discussions, enhancement planning and service improvement initiatives.

Build trusted relationships with customers through proactive technical engagement and quality delivery.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Primary Technical Skills (Essential) The successful candidate will possess strong hands‑on experience designing, developing and delivering Microsoft Business Applications solutions, with particular expertise across Dynamics 365 CE and the Microsoft Power Platform.
