The role involves both strategic and operational trading activity, leveraging an established network within the bChinese metals market /b and working closely with the production and finance teams in Africa. /p pThis is a key hire for a fast-growing organization transitioning from a regional mining operation to a global commodities trading structure. /p ppbbKey Responsibilities /b /b /p /p li pDevelop and execute the bcommercial trading strategy /b for Copper and Nickel. /p /li li pbHedge and sell /b refined products to global buyers, optimizing margins and managing price risk. /p /li li pBuild and maintain relationships with key buyers, particularly across bChina and Asia /b. /p /li li pNegotiate and close offtake agreements, ensuring compliance and delivery coordination. /p /li li pMonitor global market trends, pricing movements, and competitor activity. /p /li li pLiaise with the production manager and logistics teams to align sales and supply schedules. /p /li li pPrepare commercial reports and advise the Founder on trading performance and opportunities. /p /li li pContribute to the long-term structuring of the trading function within the new family office setup. /p /li ppbbProfile Requirements /b /b /p /p li pMinimum b5 years of experience /b in base metal trading (Copper, Nickel, or similar). /p /li li pStrong background in bhedging, pricing, and marketing /b refined products. /p /li li pProven network within the bChinese metals market /b; ability to originate and maintain buyer relationships. /p /li li pExperience in or with bmining producers and trading houses /b. /p /li li pExcellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. /p /li li pEntrepreneurial mindset, able to work autonomously in a lean and fast-evolving environment. /p /li li pFluent in English; Mandarin or other Asian language skills are a strong advantage. /p /li pThis is a rare opportunity to join a bfounder-led family office /b at a pivotal growth stage, helping to build its global trading operations from the ground up.
