Job Description Own the organic growth strategy and execution across our six memorial and obituary portals in Germany, Sweden, and Norway. We're sitting on a large, multi-market inventory of memorial pages with a 3–4× traffic upside that is entirely unworked – no active SEO ownership, no programmatic content strategy, no GEO positioning.
Your tasks
Build and own the multi-market SEO strategy across DE, SE, and NO: keyword architecture, programmatic page templates, internal linking structure, and indexation at scale across our full page inventory Conduct a full technical SEO audit and drive resolution directly with Engineering: crawl budget, Core Web Vitals, Schema.org markup (Person, Event, BreadcrumbList, Obituary), JavaScript rendering (SSR/CSR), and sitemap infrastructure Design and build a unified event tracking and measurement framework for organic performance across all portals: Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs/Semrush – with regular KPI reporting to the VP Product and the wider executive team (CTO, CRO, CEO) Build GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) foundations: AI-crawler accessibility (GPTBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended), fact-structured content formatting, and visibility monitoring across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT Search, and Perplexity Translate SEO requirements into clearly specified Engineering backlog tickets; prioritise and QA implementation independently Build an organic growth forecasting model: traffic potential per market, investment prioritisation, ROI projection Identify and develop Traffic Partnership opportunities (white-label integrations with regional newspapers and special-interest portals) and evaluate Paid Search as a complementary channel – scope expands as the function matures Your skillset: Founder or builder mentality: you've built something from zero before – a growth function, a product, a business, a side project that scaled – and you default to action and hands‑on building rather than waiting for a perfect brief or someone else's roadmap Extensive experience in SEO at a marketplace, classifieds, or large-scale UGC platform (Jobs, Real Estate, Automotive, Travel, or comparable) – template-level programmatic SEO, not page‑by‑page optimisation Proven track record scaling organic traffic across millions of individual pages; deep technical SEO expertise (crawl budget, structured data, rendering, sitemaps, robots.txt) Direct hands‑on experience collaborating with Engineering teams: you write clean SEO tickets, argue prioritisation in sprint planning, and QA implementations yourself Multi‑market / multi‑domain SEO across languages and geographies; Local SEO experience a strong plus Strong analytical foundation: Matomo, Google Search Console, Ahrefs or Semrush, GA4; SQL a plus Commercial mindset: you can build an organic growth business case and present it credibly to investors and executive leadership First practical exposure to GEO / AI‑search optimisation a plus Fluent English and German required
