Senior Linux System Engineer – NETCUP Platform (M/W/D) Karlsruhe | full time At netcup, we build the Platform department: a technical team that bridges infrastructure and operations, responsible for stability, further development, and in-depth root cause analysis.
Responsibilities In-depth technical analysis and long‑term root‑cause resolution for complex problems Management of complex incidents that go beyond day‑to‑day operations Supporting our 3rd‑level service desk with escalations Technical design and support during the development of new products and projects Development of automations and internal tools Creating technical standards and runbooks for complex issues Planning and executing complex maintenance tasks, including stakeholder coordination Evaluating and implementing new solutions to improve our platform Qualifications Completed IT training or degree and/or professional experience in comparable positions Advanced knowledge of administering common Linux distributions (particularly Debian/Ubuntu, RHEL-based distributions such as AlmaLinux/Rocky Linux, etc.) Very strong troubleshooting, documentation, and analytical skills Good understanding of networks (troubleshooting) as well as solid experience with configuration management (e.g., Puppet) and scripting (Bash, Python) Systematic and analytical thinking, as well as the ability to work independently and focus on solutions Ability to work well in a team and strong communication skills Excellent German and good English skills Benefits We offer a fair salary and numerous benefits including flexible working hours, further training, a mentoring program, free parking, a mobile phone and notebook, snacks and drinks, and employee events.
