ph3Senior Land Management / Rangeland Expert /h3 pbNTU International /b is preparing a proposal for the bEU-funded /b project “bEU Assistance for the Uzbekistan AgriFood Development Strategy 2020–2030 /b”, which aims to support the Government of Uzbekistan in the implementation of a sustainable, market-oriented, inclusive and climate-smart agri-food system.

The project focuses on strengthening policy and regulatory frameworks, institutional capacities, and public sector governance in support of the Agri-Food Development Strategy 2020–2030. /p pThe Technical Assistance will support sustainable land management, soil conservation, pasture management, and climate-resilient agricultural practices aimed at improving environmental sustainability and resilience in Uzbekistan’s rural areas. /p pbNTU International /b is seeking a Senior Land Management / Rangeland Expert to support sustainable land management systems, rangeland governance, and natural resource management initiatives related to the agri-food sector in Uzbekistan. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liSupport development and implementation of sustainable land management and rangeland management strategies; /li liProvide technical assistance on soil conservation, pasture management, land restoration, and sustainable agricultural land use practices; /li liConduct assessments related to land degradation, desertification, soil fertility, and rangeland conditions; /li liSupport development of land management frameworks, operational guidelines, and resource management plans; /li liAdvise Ministries and public institutions on sustainable land governance, ecosystem management, and climate-resilient agricultural practices; /li liPromote integration of biodiversity protection, climate adaptation, and sustainable natural resource management into agricultural systems; /li liContribute to preparation of technical studies, land management assessments, policy recommendations, and restoration strategies; /li liCoordinate with Ministries, environmental agencies, research institutions, farmers’ organisations, and development partners; /li liDeliver workshops, technical training, and capacity-building activities related to land management and rangeland governance; /li liContribute to monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of land restoration and natural resource management initiatives. /li /ul h3Education /h3 ul liMaster’s degree in land management, agronomy, environmental sciences, natural resource management, rangeland management, or another relevant field. /li /ul h3General Professional Experience /h3 ul liMinimum 10 years of professional experience in land management, rangeland management, natural resource management, or environmental sustainability; /li liProven experience working on agricultural, environmental, or rural development projects in developing or transition economies; /li liExperience in international development cooperation and donor-funded programmes. /li /ul h3Specific Professional Experience /h3 ul liMinimum 7 years of experience in sustainable land management, rangeland governance, or ecosystem restoration initiatives; /li liDemonstrated experience with pasture management systems, soil conservation, land rehabilitation, or climate-resilient land use practices; /li liExperience related to desertification control, watershed management, biodiversity conservation, or sustainable agriculture is considered an advantage; /li liExperience supporting projects financed by the EU, World Bank, IFAD, FAO, UNDP, GEF, ADB, or other international financial institutions is considered a strong asset; /li liExperience working with Ministries, environmental agencies, land management authorities, or research institutions is considered an advantage; /li liExperience in Central Asia, Eastern Europe, or post-Soviet countries is considered an asset. /li /ul h3Languages /h3 ul liWorking knowledge of Russian is considered a strong asset. /li /ul pPlease note that inclusion in the expert pool does not guarantee immediate assignment.
