Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain robust backend systems and enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot. Build and operate distributed, microservices-based architectures, including containerization and deployment on Kubernetes.

Implement event‑driven workflows and asynchronous processing with messaging technologies such as Apache Kafka. Model data and optimize performance across relational and non‑relational databases (PostgreSQL, Time Series Databases). Develop batch and workflow processing, business logic and system integrations.

Ensure software quality through automated testing, code reviews and adherence to coding standards. Contribute to architecture decisions and continuously improve development processes, scalability and system reliability. Incorporate AI as a tool across tasks. Work in a fast‑paced, flat‑hierarchical, start‑up style environment with creative freedom.

Qualifications 5+ years of professional experience in backend Java development. Strong command of Java and the Spring / Spring Boot ecosystem. Solid experience designing and consuming REST APIs and building microservices. Hands‑on experience with Docker. Proficiency with relational databases (e.g.

PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL) and ORM frameworks (Hibernate / JPA). Experience with automated testing (JUnit, Mockito) and build/version‑control tooling (Maven, Git). Comfortable working in an Agile / Scrum environment. Professional working proficiency in English (B2 or higher). Strong communication and solution‑oriented mindset.

Interest in exploring new topics and using AI to improve work efficiency. Independent, precise, pragmatic work style. Desire to work in an office rather than remotely. Nice to have Experience with event‑driven systems and Apache Kafka. Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS or GCP). Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes.

Observability tooling (Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry). Work with CI/CD pipelines. Identity & access management (Keycloak / SSO) and API security. Exposure to frontend frameworks (Angular, Vue or React) for full‑stack collaboration. Flexible, hybrid working arrangements and room for professional growth.

The minimum salary for this position is € 3 954,00 gross/month in accordance with the Austrian IT Collective Agreement (full‑time, 38.5 h/week).
