About The Role For our client, we are looking for an experienced Senior IT Infrastructure & Security Engineer to join a highly skilled IT team within a security-focused organization.

Alongside security responsibilities, you’ll contribute to the administration and maintenance of core IT infrastructure, supporting a modern Windows-based enterprise environment. Provide 2nd and 3rd level infrastructure support as part of a collaborative IT team. A collaborative, highly skilled IT team with significant technical ownership.

You won't just define security policies—you’ll implement them, monitor security operations, respond to incidents, and continuously strengthen the organization’s IT environment.

Location: Düsseldorf, Germany (Hybrid) Employment Type: Full‑time Key Responsibilities Security Operations Operate, monitor, and continuously improve the organization’s SIEM platform, including alert triage, tuning, and incident response.

Manage the vulnerability management lifecycle, including scanning, risk assessment, prioritization, remediation tracking, and reporting. Coordinate and oversee patch management processes from planning through deployment validation.

Investigate, contain, document, and resolve security incidents while driving continuous improvement through post‑incident reviews. Support Information Security Management System (ISMS) activities and compliance with recognized security frameworks and standards.

Infrastructure Engineering Administer and maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, WSUS, and Microsoft Exchange environments. Support VMware virtualization infrastructure and enterprise storage systems. Assist with backup operations using Veeam Backup & Replication and contribute to disaster recovery planning.

Create and maintain high‑quality technical documentation and operational runbooks. Required Qualifications What We’re Looking For 8+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure, Systems Administration, or a similar role. Strong hands‑on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, WSUS, and Microsoft Exchange.

Practical experience in Security Operations, including SIEM platforms, vulnerability management, endpoint protection, or related security technologies. Experience with virtualization platforms, preferably VMware vSphere. Ability to work independently, proactively identify issues, develop solutions, and drive them through to completion.

Strong documentation skills with experience creating technical documentation and operational procedures. Fluent German (minimum C1) and English (minimum C1), both written and spoken. Preferred Qualifications Experience with SIEM platforms such as Wazuh, Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar, or similar.

Knowledge of ISO 27001, BSI IT‑Grundschutz, or comparable information security frameworks. Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication. PowerShell scripting for automation. Experience using AI tools to automate tasks and improve operational efficiency.

Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, VMCE, security, or infrastructure certifications.
