Senior Defi Engineer — Remote, Build Next-Gen Protocols

Our client, a trailblazer in the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem, is seeking a highly accomplished and visionary Lead Blockchain Engineer to spearhead their engineering efforts. This position is a fully remote role, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while making a significant impact. You will lead a team of talented blockchain developers in designing, building, and deploying sophisticated DeFi protocols and products. This role requires a deep technical understanding of blockchain technology, smart contracts, and the nuances of the DeFi landscape. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced DeFi protocols and smart contracts.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of blockchain engineers.
• Oversee the architecture and implementation of secure, scalable, and performant blockchain solutions.
• Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to define project roadmaps and technical requirements.
• Conduct code reviews, ensure adherence to best practices, and maintain high code quality.
• Research and integrate new blockchain technologies and industry trends into our product offerings.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to blockchain systems and smart contracts.
• Contribute to strategic decision‑making regarding the future direction of our DeFi products.

Requirements

• Extensive experience (8+ years) in software engineering, with at least 5 years focused specifically on blockchain and smart contract development.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams.
• Expertise in smart contract programming languages such as Solidity and experience with frameworks like Hardhat or Truffle.
• Deep understanding of DeFi concepts, protocols (e.g., AMMs, lending protocols, derivatives), and associated risks.
• Proficiency in backend development languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, Go).
• Strong knowledge of blockchain architecture, cryptography, and security principles.
• Experience with distributed systems and consensus algorithms.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, remote‑first environment.
