Senior Contract Manager (m/f/d) - Hydropower & Water Infrastructure

Lahmeyer International GmbH is a leading international engineering company specializing in planning and consulting for energy, hydropower, and irrigation systems. We are seeking a qualified and dedicated professional to lead contract management for our hydropower and water infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and compile tender documents for hydropower, dam, and major water resource development projects, primarily based on the FIDIC standard conditions of contract.

• Lead the entire construction contract procurement process, supporting the employer during tendering, evaluation, and contract negotiations.

• Advise and support international teams in all aspects of construction contract management, from team setup to contract administration and change management.

• Manage claims, contribute to conciliation and arbitration proceedings, and deliver trainings or workshops as needed.

• Assist in project management for hydropower and water resource planning and implementation, including control of interdisciplinary engineering teams.

• Oversee construction scheduling, including analysis and development to assess delay and disruption claims and determine deadline extensions.

• Prepare technical quotations for engineering services and provide support during contract negotiations.

Qualifications

• Completed studies in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying with a focus on construction management or contract management.

• At least 20 years of relevant professional experience, including overseas work, with a minimum of 8 years in specialized construction contract procurement/management, preferably with hydropower project experience.

• In-depth knowledge and extensive experience in procuring large construction services (preferably electromechanical) for hydropower or similar projects, aligned with procurement rules of development banks.

• Experience with FIDIC-based construction contracts and familiarity with non-standard EPC or other contract types.

• Initial experience with BIM is desirable.

• Familiarity with common construction scheduling software and techniques.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

• Legal practice level proficiency in English; additional foreign languages, including German, are an advantage.
