Senior Construction Manager - Remote

About the Role

Our client, a national leader in the construction sector, is actively seeking a highly experienced Senior Construction Manager to join their forward-thinking team. This is a unique, fully remote opportunity catering to professionals who excel in managing complex construction projects without requiring a physical office presence. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of diverse building projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa , contributing to projects across various regions, including those in Bloemfontein, Free State, ZA , but managed remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, execution, and closing of multiple construction projects concurrently.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring profitability and timely completion.
• Develop and implement detailed construction plans and strategies.
• Lead and motivate project teams, including site supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors, through virtual communication channels.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on all project sites.
• Manage client relationships, providing regular progress updates and addressing concerns proactively.
• Oversee procurement, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
• Implement quality assurance and control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
• Mitigate project risks and resolve issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional registration with a relevant body (e.g., SACPCMP) is highly advantageous.
• A minimum of 10 years of extensive experience in construction management, with significant responsibility for large and complex projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing budgets exceeding R50 million.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, Procore) and collaborative digital tools.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and South African regulations.
• Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Proven ability to manage distributed teams and deliver results remotely.
• Strong financial acumen and understanding of contract administration.
