This position supports the Ankura Turnaround & Restructuring practice, one of six client-delivery practices across the Firm. The practice works with management to address financial and operational challenges, developing bespoke plans and providing strategic advice to companies’ boards and investors.
You will assist companies across diverse sectors and industries in decisive changes globally, execute critical project deliverables to ensure high- quality, on-time results, and bring innovative ideas to reach shared goals. You will also help develop Ankura’s expertise in T&R and support senior leaders in business-development initiatives.
Responsibilities Organize project work streams, achieve engagement objectives, and assist with business development. Financial Modelling: produce 13-week cash-flow forecasts and other analyses, including sensitivity analysis, baselining, forecast reviews, and cost benchmarking.
Diagnostic and Planning: identify key immediate improvements and advocate for adoption with company leaders through cost reduction, operational transformation, and working-capital improvements. Break down and solve problems through quantitative thinking and analysis.
Apply expertise in turnaround projects across various industries, emphasizing operational restructuring and immediate performance boosts. Build trust-based relationships with clients and the wider Ankura firm.
Engage in business-development activities through client interactions, industry events, and development of point-of-view documents on potential acquisition targets for private-equity funds.
Contribute to Ankura’s T&R growth in performance improvement, operational restructuring, and turnaround through active case work, client relations, and creation of valuable ideas and products. Requirements Extensive work experience in Performance Improvement, Value Creation, and Operational Turnaround.
A degree in Business, Finance, or Engineering, and/or a financial qualification such as CFA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent (preferable but not essential). Strong quantitative, financial, analytical, and modelling skills. Ability to manage complex projects and multiple stakeholders within a wider transformation or restructuring context.
Experience developing business plans, financial projections, and identifying/implementing turnaround solutions.
Experience identifying and implementing levers to improve performance, including cost reduction, cost benchmarking, organisation health & redesign, supply-chain & procurement, growth strategies & market analysis, cash and working-capital management & optimisation, manufacturing optimisation, PMI and carve-outs, process mapping & redesign, and strategic & business planning.
Experience actively managing multiple client and stakeholder relationships and networking within the client organisation to influence the client agenda. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are advantageous.
Relevant experience in a Big-4 firm, investment banking, restructuring consultancy, or related industry is highly beneficial.
