Senior Android Engineer

Your role will be to

As a Senior Android Engineer you will work as part of an agile, cross‑functional team of designers and engineers to architect, develop, and maintain the Tandem Android app. This role sits within our “pro” team, which is responsible for monetising our users and making our Tandem Pro offering more appealing to our wider user base. You will focus on projects such as implementing social features, rapid experimentation of new experiences, and ensuring that our users are aware of all that Tandem has to offer.

You are the right fit for the role if you

• have 5+ years of experience with Kotlin/native app development

• have a passion for clean architecture and SOLID principles

• have good experience writing unit tests, including designing for testability and ideally TDD

• have worked on large apps that have more than 100,000 users and a good level of complexity

• have worked in close collaboration with marketing or growth functions in a previous role

• have the confidence to be the Android expert in the room and be happy to both drive and critique technical designs

What would make your application stand out

• Experience building realtime chat services

• Experience with Kotlin multiplatform

• Experience building apps that handle realtime media (audio / video)

• Experience with iterative design and working with agile cross‑functional teams
