You will have direct input to our mission to democratize data-driven medicine for the ultimate benefit of cancer and rare disease patients across the globe. Your Mission We are looking for a Senior AI Software Engineer to strengthen our Engineering Hub — a small, nimble team that takes new product ideas from 0 to 1.

You will be a builder and a mentor: shipping full-stack product features, and bringing hands‑on experience with production LLM applications so the whole team levels up. Lead code and design reviews; mentor junior engineers and raise the team's engineering quality.

Use managed LLM endpoints on Azure AI Foundry effectively (caching, tools, structured output), and share these practices with the team. Front-end: React and modern JavaScript. GraphQL, observability (Grafana, Loki), modern DevOps.

The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity. #J-18808-Ljbffr You’ll focus on genomics interpretation, data processing, and analysis, using AI to contribute to our SaaS platform that transforms how complex healthcare data is shared and utilized.

This is a hybrid opportunity, requiring 3 days onsite at our corporate office in either Bidart, FR, Rolle, CH or Boston, MA. Our Mission We believe there is a smarter, more data-driven way to make decisions in healthcare and our cloud-native AI powered SOPHiA DDM Platform makes that vision a reality on a daily basis.

Your first flagship AI project will draft evidence-grounded gene and variant descriptions, with sources and citations, for clinical interpreters to review. Product Engineering Design, build, test, deploy and maintain full-stack web features and microservices, owning components end to end.

Collaborate with Product, QA, Architecture and PMO to align delivery with product vision and regulatory needs Applied AI / LLM Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines over curated clinical data sources and internal databases. Design system and task-specific prompts, structured output, and provenance/citation handling.

Build LLM evaluation into the product: graders and evaluation pipelines that score accuracy, relevance and grounding, plus guardrails that verify citations resolve and are relevant. Requirements 5–7 years building and releasing reliable web-based services to production. Back-end: strong Java and SQL, microservice architecture.

Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD. Hands‑on experience with production LLM applications — specifically RAG pipelines and/or LLM evaluation — OR clear, demonstrable evidence of rapidly self‑learning new technical areas to production quality.

Experience using AI tooling in the SDLC (AI-assisted coding, review, documentation). Strong communication and a real appetite for mentoring. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Strong plus Prompt engineering, structured/JSON output, and reasoning about faithfulness, calibration and hallucination. Experience with Azure AI Foundry or equivalent managed inference platforms; prompt caching. Experience in genomics, digital healthcare, or another regulated domain.

Start date ASAP Contract Permanent Pay Range MA Pay Range: USD 88,000 - 168,000 Disclaimer The estimated pay range represents a good faith estimate of what the Company expects to pay a successful applicant for the listed position and applies specifically to candidates based in Massachusetts.
