Remote Senior Process Engineer - Chemical Manufacturing

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of chemical processes, ensuring safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance.
• Utilize process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) to model, analyze, and improve existing and new processes.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical reviews for new process technologies and plant modifications.
• Develop PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams) and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex process issues, providing technical expertise to manufacturing teams.
• Oversee process scale-up from laboratory to pilot plant and commercial production.
• Ensure all process designs meet stringent safety (HAZOP analysis) and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, operations, and engineering, to drive project success.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in chemical engineering and process technology.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance within the remote team.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in process engineering within the chemical manufacturing industry.
• Extensive experience with process simulation and modeling software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
• Strong knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and mass transfer.
• Proven experience in HAZOP analysis and other process safety management techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects independently in a remote setting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills, essential for remote collaboration.
• Familiarity with project management principles and tools.
• Experience with international chemical industry standards and regulations.
