Remote Senior Network Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a global leader in telecommunications infrastructure, is looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join their fully remote team. You will be responsible for ensuring network security, performance, and reliability, as well as driving the adoption of new network technologies. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, and network protocols, coupled with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment. You will collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure seamless connectivity and optimal network performance across diverse environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and deploy robust and scalable network infrastructure solutions.
• Manage and maintain enterprise-level network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Ensure the security and integrity of the network by implementing and monitoring security protocols and measures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, minimizing downtime and impact on services.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
• Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and solutions to improve performance and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and infrastructure changes.
• Monitor network performance and capacity, implementing upgrades and optimizations as needed.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on enterprise network design and management.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs, and other core networking protocols.
• Hands-on experience with network security technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC).
• Proficiency in configuring and managing hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto).
• Experience with cloud networking concepts (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure VNet).
• Strong understanding of network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, self-directed environment.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP) are highly desirable.
