About the Role

Our client, a dynamic and innovative beauty brand, is seeking a talented Remote Senior Beauty Product Developer & Formulator. This position is crucial for driving the creation of cutting-edge skincare, haircare, and cosmetic products. You will leverage your extensive formulation expertise and market insight to conceptualize, develop, and bring to market high-performance beauty products. This is a fully remote role, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere, provided you have a stable internet connection and can effectively collaborate with a geographically dispersed team. We are looking for a creative chemist and product innovator who is passionate about beauty and possesses a deep understanding of ingredient efficacy, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and develop new cosmetic, skincare, and haircare formulations from brief to final product.
• Conduct extensive research on new ingredients, raw materials, and emerging beauty technologies.
• Perform bench-scale formulation and pilot batch testing, optimizing for efficacy, stability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with the marketing and R&D teams to ensure product concepts align with market trends and brand vision.
• Oversee the scale-up process from lab to manufacturing, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Manage product testing, including stability, compatibility, and efficacy studies.
• Ensure all formulations comply with relevant international regulatory standards and safety guidelines.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, including Bill of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing procedures.
• Troubleshoot formulation issues and provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle.
• Stay informed about competitor products and industry innovations in the global beauty market.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in beauty product formulation and development, with a strong portfolio of successfully launched products.
• Proven expertise in formulating for skincare, haircare, and color cosmetics.
• In-depth knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, their functions, safety profiles, and regulatory requirements across major markets.
• Experience with various testing methodologies (stability, microbial, efficacy).
• Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote role.
• Proficiency in laboratory techniques and analytical instrumentation.
