Remote Lead Project Manager - Renewable Energy Infrastructure

About the Role

This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from any location within South Africa while playing a crucial role in expanding sustainable energy solutions. You will be responsible for the overall success of projects, from initial feasibility studies and planning through to construction and commissioning. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of renewable energy projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Manage all project phases, including site selection, permitting, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans, and financial forecasts.
• Oversee and mentor project teams, fostering collaboration and high performance within a remote work environment.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, utility companies, suppliers, and community representatives.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
• Ensure effective communication flows between all project participants and stakeholders through regular reporting and virtual meetings.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within project management processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil), Project Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of project management experience, with a significant focus on renewable energy projects (solar, wind, etc.).
• Proven experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
• Strong knowledge of the renewable energy industry, including technology, market trends, and regulatory frameworks.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and relevant analytical tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage remote teams and successfully deliver projects virtually.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
• Must be legally authorized to work remotely within South Africa.
