This is a fully remote position, offering unparalleled flexibility and the opportunity to work from anywhere in South Africa. The Lead will be responsible for architecting, designing, and validating electrical systems for innovative energy solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical systems for renewable energy applications, including power conversion, energy storage, and grid interface.
• Define electrical system architecture, specifications, and design guidelines.
• Oversee the creation of detailed electrical schematics, layouts, and component selection.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to a team of electrical engineers across different locations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (mechanical, software, product management) to ensure integrated system design.
• Develop and execute comprehensive testing and validation plans for electrical systems.
• Conduct feasibility studies, performance analysis, and reliability assessments.
• Drive innovation by researching and integrating new electrical technologies and components.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
• Manage design reviews and ensure timely delivery of high‑quality electrical design documentation.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, with a strong focus on Power Electronics or Renewable Energy Systems.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in electrical system design, with at least 4 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Extensive experience with power conversion topologies, energy storage systems, and grid interconnection standards.
• Proficiency in electrical design software, simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS), and PCB design principles.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing remote engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of system integration, testing, and validation methodologies.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, suitable for a remote work environment.
• Must be eligible to work remotely and legally in South Africa.
