Title Associate or Senior Editor, Nature Reviews Materials Locations Berlin, Heidelberg, Madrid, Milan, Pune (hybrid model) Closing Date July 14th, 2026 Responsibilities Commission narrative, reviews, and opinion pieces.
Work closely with authors throughout the manuscript development process, providing feedback on synopses, developmental editing of first drafts, line‑by‑line editing of final manuscripts before acceptance, and assistance with figures and other display items. Write Research Highlights and other editorial content.
Qualifications PhD in a materials science‑related discipline, preferably chemistry, with experience in materials for batteries, photovoltaics, or catalysis. Demonstrable ability to edit text for sense, clarity, factual correctness, and language. Strong writing skills. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; keen attention to detail.
Ability to quickly absorb new research areas and identify emerging developments and trends beyond immediate expertise. Willingness to travel to meet scientists and advocate for the journal. Editorial experience is not required; candidates with prior editorial experience may be eligible for a Senior Editor position. Application Requirements CV.
